I recently got this G1 Punch/Counterpunch in a lot I bough, and he was in really good shape. There were no stickers on him though, so I grabbed a set of ReproLabels and got to stickering!
If you’ve never used ReproLabels before, the basic gist is that they have “reproduction labels” for older figures, mainly G1, but they also do custom sheets for newer figures like Masterpiece and Third Party stuff. I’ve done a number of G1 re-stickerings over the past few years, as well as adding details to my newer figures using ReproLabels. Only one time have I had a sheet of labels that wasn’t cut correctly which required them to send me out a new sheet. They were quick to respond and I got my new labels relatively fast. They ship every order out of Canada for a flat fee of $3.00, so it makes sense to do a larger order if you’re planning on getting some stickers, or do a group buy with some friends.
All of the stickers in this set are meant for bot mode. The main sticker areas on this guy are the arms and legs. The legs on Punch specifically get 3 different sets of stickers, while the arms get 2 and Counterpunch’s legs get the remaining set. I was surprised by how difficult it was to get a couple of the Punch leg stickers into place, since they go inside the shins. My adult-sized fingers were not fitting in there, so tweezers were employed to get them placed correctly. I generally use tweezers anyway, just to make sure I’m not getting my finger oils all over the adhesive side of the label before application. I think the final result turned out beautifully, and I implore you to check out ReproLabels website if you’ve never re-stickered any of your older figures and have one that could use some love.
